saying goodbye

I’ve never been good at goodbyes. Words seem to fall so short of expressing gratitude and deep appreciation for the people and places that have come to mean so much to me. During every major transition in my life, I have used the visual arts to help me process the past and looking towards the future. I also tend to give away a TON of art during transition times – sort of my attempt to give something that’s meaningful (perhaps more meaningful than a few words and certainly more than a simple “goodbye”).

I’m excited to take this next step and move to Vancouver! I know my artwork will surely begin to take on new forms, and go in a direction I never saw coming. I only pray that God would continue to give me the grace to transition well. Goodbyes are never easy, but sharing my heart through gifting artwork helps give me closure…

Erik and I praise God for the adventures we’ve had in Atlanta the last two years! We pray that these last few days we will learn how to truly say a good bye, and begin our transition to the unknown territory ahead!
