With an ever-growing belly and a little girl inside it that enjoys dance parties and spicy food, I've been spending countless hours on Pinterest getting my creative juices flowing for all-things-baby.  Soon, daydreaming and pinning will turn into action as Erik and I turn our guest room into a creative space for our little girl, and my dusty under-used sewing machine will get a workout making clothes, hats and toys.  (assuming, of course, that my energy level and schedule comply with my eager ambition!)

Here's what I've been inspired by this week:

2013 sounds like the name of some futuristic sci-fi film rather than the year we find ourselves in.  To commemorate the start of a new year and the entrance into the 20-teens, we are running a special in our Fontface shop:

We've been eager to announce our newest product:

our 2013 desk calendar!

Over the next few weeks, Fontface (my little side business / collaboration with my husband) will be releasing some new card designs and a nifty little 2013 desk calendar.

I've always thought there's something really magical about giraffes.  What strange, beautiful, graceful, freakishly elongated creatures!  :)  On that note, here's our newest card design - available now in our etsy shop.

I can't believe it's the weekend already!  If you're in the Raleigh-Durham area, here are a few arty things you won't want to miss this weekend:

This week's collage is a continuation of the September series involving strips of patterned paper and a black stylized drawing.  I love old typewriters, so I had fun making this one today!

Following the parameters I set for myself last week, I spent some time in the studio this morning creating a new collage.

To change things up a bit, for my weekly collage project I have decided to focus not so much on creating several collages at once, as much as working on one at a time.  But just like all my projects, I need more parameters than that if I expect to push myself creatively.  So for each week in the month of September, my collages will incoporate only thin strips of paper and include one stylized drawing.
