www.ethnographic2013.com art by Erik and Shannon Newby, Artspace, Raleigh NC

With over 130 entries from all over the world, we're happy with how everyone has responded to the installation so far.  The work itself is growing, with typed entries on muslin fabric being sewn together with red thread

Erik and I have been busy working on an art installation, called “Ethnographic 2013."  It's a collaborative project that will be displayed in the Raleigh Artspace Pop Up Gallery.  We are inviting anyone (and everyone!) to answer the question: What does the next generation need to know?

The rest of the pieces in the exhibit were larger in scale and implemented steel (a new and fascinating material for me!).  Here's how they turned out, and what original source materials inspired the work...

2013 sounds like the name of some futuristic sci-fi film rather than the year we find ourselves in.  To commemorate the start of a new year and the entrance into the 20-teens, we are running a special in our Fontface shop:

It's Monday and we've got another card design now available in our etsy shop!

It can be tough to find a really unique thank you card these days.  {We've seen one too many that are cheesy, boring or just say "thank you" in a swirly cursive font.}  So we decided to make our own.

Over the next few weeks, Fontface (my little side business / collaboration with my husband) will be releasing some new card designs and a nifty little 2013 desk calendar.

I've always thought there's something really magical about giraffes.  What strange, beautiful, graceful, freakishly elongated creatures!  :)  On that note, here's our newest card design - available now in our etsy shop.
