Tea Time

I’ve been busy painting painting painting!  Encaustic painting requires a well-ventilated room (aka fans and a few open windows in my studio!) so I’m trying to work hard on the semi-warm days we still have before true GA winter sets in.  I’ve been working on a new series of paintings.  Take a peak!

To help you understand my thoughts and prayers for each piece, here’s a “legend” to reading my work:

tea bags = people, a sense of community and friendship

birds = freedom, identity

stamps = transition, moving from place to place

brick walls = barriers that either myself or others put up

torn book pages = a story unfolding

muted colors = the natural shades of the beeswax, calmness
