Newby news

Why hello there, long-neglected blog.  It seems you and I have much to catch up on!

1) I have moved!  (yes, AGAIN.)  My studio is now comfortably within my new home in Raleigh and I couldn't be any more excited about it!  For those of you that know me, it should come as no surprise that the studio was the first room I set up.  And of course, my tools just *had* to be organized and the room had to be divided into work stations and nooks - for 2-D, 3-D / mixed media, and sewing.  I know, I know.  A little OCD perhaps, but considering there are few things I get more excited about than designing creative spaces, you can't blame me right?  ;)

Here's a quick tour of the new set-up:

2) My teaching schedule will be limited to mostly classes and workshops outside of my studio.  You can find my upcoming schedule here.  The upcoming Altered Book class in July is full, but spots are still available for the encaustic workshop in August!  (This is a great opportunity to try your hand at encaustic painting.  No previous experience is necessary.)

3) I am thrilled to be working on an a body of work for an exhibition in December.  Stay tuned for more details!

4) And some exciting projects are in the works for the coming weeks including some additional items for my etsy shop, and online encaustic workshops (for those of you that have always wanted to come to one of my classes, but couldn't due to cost or location!)

And on a final note, here are some flowers blooming outside my studio door.  I have no idea what these lovely little guys are, but they sure make me smile!
