Fontface

With a smiley "lil squishy" as my studiomate, it's hard to want to do anything in the studio other than play, coo and take endless pictures and videos to send the grandparents. But, I suppose there's other fun to be had (though everything dulls in comparison to a 2 1/2 month old's gummy grins!)

The fontface etsy shop is back up and running and we've already been busy working with local printers and restocking inventory in our favorite Raleigh handmade shop, Epona & Oak. We've got big plans to roll out some new designs soon, and expand to prints and shirts. So stay tuned!

new studio sale - Raleigh's First Friday!

I'm delighted to announce the opening of my new studio space!  My 2-month old "studio manager" has been very agreeable to hang out with me most Tuesday and Thursday afternoons there, and has already won the hearts of all my artist-neighbors.

interview with Leslie Pearson

Leslie Pearson | detail of

So I've mentioned artist Leslie Pearson on here a lot lately.  She and I have become fast friends and artistically, we're kindred spirits.  We seem to have an uncanny amount of things in common.  Not least of which is our love of odd materials like hog gut, and an endless fascination with vessel and pod-shaped things.

She was recently interviewed about her work here.  It's a great read!

1,100 sf studio right in her own home, say what?!  I'm green with envy!  :)

And her process shots of working with gut remind me of my installation "Incarne" 2 years ago...

Leslie, if you're reading this, there's a house 5 doors down from mine that's for sale.  You and your husband are welcome to move here and collaborate with Erik and I on - well, just about anything.  :)
